Trump says plans to call Putin

BRUSSELS. June 25 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump has said he plans to have a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"I'm going to speak to Vladimir Putin," Trump said at a press conference in The Hague. He did not say when exactly this conversation could be arranged.

Trump said he had met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky earlier on Wednesday. "He was very nice, actually," he said.

Trump said Zelensky and he did not discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine. "I think he would like to see an end to this," Trump said referring to Zelensky, adding that now he intended to get in touch with Putin to find out whether the Russian president was willing to bring the Ukraine conflict to an end.
