Russia considering boosting imports to balance out trade as capital outflow decreases - Econ Minister
MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - Russia is now faced with the strategic task of increasing imports to balance out trade in goods and services amid a the reduction in capital outflow, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said during a meeting with foreign envoys in Russia.
"In general, we have a strategic task before us - as a country, it is in our interests to keep trade balanced," he said.
"Obviously, since capital outflow has decreased, we need goods and services trade to be balanced, and it is therefore in our interests to increase imports from the countries with which we trade," the minister said.
