FESCO plans to start coastal trade between Indian ports

ST. PETERSBURG. June 23 (Interfax) - FESCO Transportation Group, whose parent company is PJSC Far East Shipping Company (FESCO), plans to begin maritime cabotage transportation between Indian ports in 2025, German Maslov, vice president of the FESCO linear and logistics division, told reporters at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025.

Maslov said that a FESCO vessel would navigate the east and west coasts of India without calling into the Russian Federation. The vessel will connect through the Indian ports of Nava Sheva and Mundra to the maritime main line that calls into Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg.

Maslov said that this is a new page for the Russian fleet, as no company has entered this segment before.

FESCO is also working on expanding the Meat Shuttle maritime service.

"We are currently experiencing growth of about 20% in the volume of transportation of meat products and poultry from Russia. We have bought more than 600 refrigerated containers this year, particularly for this growth. The flow will increase by expanding the area of our presence in Southeast Asia and other countries," Maslov said.

"FESCO can organize the Meat Shuttle, which we implement jointly with the Russian Export Center, in any country that is interested in our products. This is already a proven technology. We are actively promoting the brand now in the markets of the global South, Southeast Asia, India, and Bangladesh," he said. Maslov said that the possibility of expanding the Meat Shuttle service to Indonesia is currently under discussion.
