Roscosmos head allows for private investment in rocket industry

ST. PETERSBURG. June 18 (Interfax) - A large private investor may appear in the Russian rocket industry, Roscosmos General Director Dmitry Bakanov said.

"We need a rocket, we need a rocket with a reentry first stage, and we have certain agreements on the appearance of a large private investor in this area," Bakanov said at a session of the Eurasian Women's Forum on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025).

The engagement of commercial companies in providing launch services will be a new area of Roscosmos' cooperation with private companies, he said.
