Viktor Gulin appointed head of Rostransnadzor after serving as acting head since April

MOSCOW. June 11 (Interfax) - Viktor Gulin has been appointed head of the Federal Transport Oversight Service (Rostransnadzor), having served as acting head of the agency since early April following the retirement of the previous head, Viktor Basargin.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the order appointing Gulin, the government's press service said.

Gulin was born in 1976 in the village of Kukarino in the Mozhaisky district of the Moscow region. In 1998, he graduated from the Russian University of Transport. After completing his studies, he worked as a foreman, production site supervisor and deputy head of the Lobnya locomotive depot for repairs, and technical director of Tverskoi Express LLC.

Gulin joined Rostransnadzor in 2008 and held various positions in the agency. In 2019, he became deputy head of the service, and in April this year he assumed the role of acting head.
