Russian Finance Ministry approves 4.5 trln rubles in funding for national space project - Roscosmos head
NIZHNY NOVGOROD. June 3 (Interfax) - The Russian Finance Ministry has approved 4.5 trillion rubles in funding for the national space exploration project, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov said.
"The requested 4.5 trillion has been approved by the Finance Ministry, we have no problems here," Bakanov told reporters on Tuesday.
Roscosmos revised the national space project after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered its refinement, he said.
"All state space programs are now inside our national project," Bakanov said.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on May 20 that more than 1 trillion rubles would be needed to develop Russia's space industry over the next three years, and about 4.5 trillion rubles by 2036. He also announced the completion of adjustments to strategic plans for space activities.
The new initiatives are expected to be launched next year after finalization and approval by Putin, Mishustin said.
