Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air to launch Hanoi-Vladivostok flights from June 15
VLADIVOSTOK. May 26 (Interfax) - Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air, which is part of Sovico Group, plans to launch direct regular flights from Hanoi (Noi Bai Airport) to Vladivostok starting June 15, according to Vladivostok Airport's schedule.
The flights will operate twice weekly on Airbus 321 aircraft.
Currently, only charter flights operate from Vladivostok to Vietnam. The airline AZUR air provides service to the resort city of Nha Trang (Cam Ranh Airport).
VietJet Air was established in 2007 and positions itself as an international low-cost carrier. Its headquarters is located in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to its website, VietJet Air's together with its Thai subsidiary ThaiVietjet operates approximately 200 domestic routes in Vietnam and Thailand, as well as international routes including Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Cambodia, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Japan and India.
The airline's current fleet consists of around 80 A320 and A321 aircraft.
Sovico Group is one of Vietnam's largest diversified conglomerates, operating in energy, construction, banking and finance, as well as the aviation industry.
