Moscow views Istanbul talks as follow-up on 2022 talks - Russian delegation head Medinsky

ISTANBUL. May 15 (Interfax) - The Russian delegation views the current negotiations in Istanbul as a continuation of the 2022 peace process aborted in 2022 and has all the required competencies and powers to conduct them, Kremlin aide Vladimir Medinsky, who heads the delegation, said on Thursday.

"We view these negotiations as a continuation of the peace process in Istanbul, which was unfortunately cut short by the Ukrainian side three years ago. Our official delegation has been authorized by a presidential decree and has all the required competencies and powers for conducting negotiations," Medinsky told journalists on Thursday.
