Russian brewing company Baltika boosts production 20% in 2024
MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - Baltika Brewing Company, one of Russia's beer market leaders, increased production 20% in 2024.
"The company is operating at full production capacity. In 2024, we achieved nearly 20% growth compared to the previous year. To grow further, we'll need new production facilities," company president Taimuraz Bolloyev told journalists.
Baltika's investment program has multiple components. "It includes several focus areas, particularly domestic production development and craft brewing expansion. We've also moved into raw material sourcing and trade development. It's a program with multiple elements," he said.
Commenting on media reports about Baltika considering acquiring a snack producer, Bolloyev denied the claims. "No, this isn't true. We're not expanding beyond our core business. Though we are developing small-scale brewing - that's true."
Baltika recently initiated the creation of Russia's Beer & Non-Alcoholic Industry Expert Council to address brewers' challenges. "The problems are universal," he said.
As reported, the council, which plans to develop unified problem-solving approaches and propose regulatory changes, is chaired by Bolloyev.
When asked whether former owner Carlsberg had attempted to make contact amid reports of some companies considering returning to Russia, Bolloyev said he had no such information.
