Ukraine urges EU to accelerate its integration into single market
MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has urged the European Union to speed up the process of Ukraine's integration into the EU Single Market.
Ukraine stands ready to become a full member of the EU Single Market and urges the EU to speed up this process at all levels, Shmygal was quoted by Ukrainian media as saying at the at the Ukraine-EU business summit in Brussels on Thursday.
Trade liberalization between Ukraine and the EU must be preserved, as this is already beneficial for both sides, he added.
The bilateral trade with the EU topped $60 billion in 2024, while Ukraine imported more than $35 billion worth of goods from the EU, Shmygal said.
This profound economic integration should be backed up by new agreements, especially by the signing of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) and by stepping up the strategic dialogue on steel, Shmygal said.
