Georgia cuts visa-free stay period for Ukrainians to 1 year
MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - The Georgian government has reduced the period of time during which Ukrainian citizens can stay in Georgia without a visa to one year, Ukrainian media said, citing the Mtvari television channel.
"Under the Georgian government's decree, Ukrainian citizens who enter [Georgia] without a visa can now stay in the country for a full one-year period instead of three years. The corresponding decree is dated April 2," the TV channel said on its website.
Ukrainians who entered and were present in Georgia before February 24, 2025, will have their stay extended until February 24, 2026, it said.
After the start of the crisis, the visa-free stay period for Ukrainians in Georgia was extended from one year first to two years and then to three years.
