Russian producers of feed, food additives could expect compensation of up to 20% of costs as of 2027

MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - Russian companies that produce feed and food additives could expect compensation of up to 20% of the costs incurred in creating and/or modernizing production as of 2027, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a government meeting on Thursday.

"Enterprises that have established these operations will be able to be reimbursed part of the direct costs incurred at up to 20% of the actual cost of the facilities," Mishustin said.

The government has approved a resolution on supporting these organizations. Capacity to produce enzyme preparations, as well as food and feed additives, must be built or modernized, and then put into operation no earlier than 2024.

The Agriculture Ministry will hold a competitive selection for projects that could qualify for reimbursement.

The support measures should incentivize creating domestic production of feed additives needed for livestock farming, as well as food additives and enzyme preparations for food production.

"We expect that thanks to these measures, capacity will begin to operate in our country that will help strengthen Russia's food security, and the successful solution of the tasks of achieving technological sovereignty in agriculture will continue. What is very important for our regions is that new jobs will appear," Mishustin said.
