Trump's special envoy to travel to Moscow on March 13 - media

WASHINGTON. March 11 (Interfax) - The U.S. president's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is planning to travel to Moscow on March 13, the Axios news outlet said, citing informed sources.

"On Thursday, Witkoff plans to travel to Moscow," Axios' sources familiar with the U.S. special envoy's plans said.

However, the plan could change depending on the situation at talks in Qatar and Russian President Vladimir Putin's schedule, they said.

Witkoff is expected to meet with United Arab Emirates President Mohammed Bin Zayed on Tuesday, the sources said.

On Tuesday evening, Witkoff will travel to Doha to join Qatari and Egyptian mediators in negotiations on the Gaza hostage release and ceasefire deal.

Witkoff will meet with the prime minister of Qatar on Wednesday, the sources said.

Witkoff, U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, has been actively participating in Ukraine settlement contacts as well.

Meanwhile, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin expects the United States to somehow inform Russia on outcomes of its negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

"There'll be American-Ukrainian contacts in Jeddah today. The American side, which is looking for ways to secure a peaceful settlement, will inform us somehow," Peskov told journalists when asked to comment on reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin might meet with U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

"We'll inform you in due time on how this is going to be done," Peskov said.
