Russia extends permission to export gasoline for manufacturers for 6 months

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - The Russian ban on gasoline exports effective from March 1 to August 31 does not extend to shipments carried out by the manufacturers themselves, according to a signed government resolution.

"The decision was made to maintain the stable situation on the domestic fuel market, support the oil-refining sector, and counter gray exports of gasoline," the government's press service said earlier.

The previous such ban which was in place until January 31, 2025, also did not apply to manufacturers. It was then extended until the end of February.

Last year, a full ban on exports on both manufacturers and non-manufacturers effective from March 1 to August 31, and which was suspended from May 20 until the end of July, excluded exports carried out by manufacturers that refined over a million tonnes of oil in 2022, according to intergovernmental agreements undertaken as part of indicative balances. The full ban was then re-imposed from September 1 to December 31, 2024.
