Russia extends permission for producers to export gasoline until Aug 31
MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - The Russian government is imposing a ban on exports of automobile gasoline from March 1 to August 31, with an exception for exports by companies that actually produce oil products, the government press service said, citing a signed resolution.
"The decision was made to maintain a stable situation on the domestic fuel market, support the economics of oil refining and combat grey exports of automobile gasoline," the press release said.
A resolution banning gasoline exports from Russia that also exempted producers was in effect until January 31, 2025 and then extended to the end of February.
Russia imposed a ban on gasoline exports, by both producers and nonproducers, from March 1 to August 31, 2024, but then suspended it from May 20 to the end of July. Exceptions were made for gasoline producers who refined more than 1 million tonnes of oil in 2022, and exports under intergovernmental agreements as part of indicative balances. A complete ban on gasoline exports was reinstated from September to December 31, 2024.
