Russia boosts trade turnover of agro products with Egypt 20%, Tunisia 30% in 2024
MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Russia boosted turnover of agricultural products with Egypt 20% and Tunisia over 30% in 2024, the Agriculture Ministry said following talks between Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut and Baha El-Ghannam, director of Egypt's Mostakbal Misr agency for sustainable development, and Salwa Ben Hadid Zouari, CEO of Tunisia's grain bureau.
The talks occurred as part of Global Grain and Pulses Forum 2025 in Dubai.
The Agriculture Ministry said that wheat, vegetable oil, chickpeas and peas are the principal agricultural products that Russia exports to Egypt, while Russia imports citrus fruit, potatoes, and other fruit and vegetable products from Egypt.
Russia supplies mainly wheat and oil and fat products to Tunisia, and the country imports dates, olive oil and seafood.
The respective parties discussed the prospects for expanding trade during both meetings.
