Russia to consider creating logistics hub in Iran after 2027 - deputy industry and trade minister
TEHRAN. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Russia plans to create a transport and logistics hub in Iran's coastal zone after 2027, State Secretary and Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Roman Chekushov told Interfax.
Chekushov said that "it is too early to talk about this now" regarding the possible location of the future hub.
"My colleagues and I have looked at various options, including in Bandar Abbas, though there are no specific projects to date, because this is a complex task that generally depends on launching the North-South corridor. It makes no sense simply to set up a hub today, as we need freight traffic, railway infrastructure, a route network, and so on," he said.
As reported, the updated International Cooperation and Export national project envisages creating Russian industrial and logistics infrastructure abroad, with implementation having started in 2025.
