Ukrainian Railways Supervisory Board approves 2025-2030 strategic plan developed with USAID's support

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The Supervisory Board of Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) has approved its corporate strategic development plan for 2025-2030, developed with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Supervisory Board Chairman Gebhard Hafer said.

"Yesterday [on February 17] the Supervisory Board of JSC Ukrainian Railways approved the new corporate strategic development plan for 2025-2030," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Hafer as saying on social media.

The strategy was elaborated for the last ten months by the Ukrainian Railways team, Deloitte Ukraine, Germany and Spain with the support of USAID, he said.

The strategy defines the new strategic goals in the fields of sustainable and safe operations, operational efficiency, impact on the national economy, customer-centricity, and social responsibility.

"The strategy [...] provides clear orientation for all stakeholders in these difficult times," Hafer said, thanking all those who contributed to this work.

U.S. federal authorities, for their part, view USAID as inefficient. Earlier this month, U.S. President Donald Trump called USAID specialists "lunatics" who wasted budget funds on not very effective aid programs for other countries.

The USAID programs have been suspended at Trump's initiative. He has also promised to shut down the agency.
