Subsidiary of Kazakhstan's KazTransOil exports first shipment of ammophos from Batumi Port via TMTM route
ASTANA. Feb 10 (Interfax) - Batumi Sea Port LLC, where the exclusive management rights to a 100% stake belong to the subsidiary of JSC Kazakhstan's KazTransOil (KTO), Batumi Oil Terminal LLC, has shipped the first batch of Kazakh ammophos, a nitrogen-phosphate fertilizer, for export from the port of Batumi, the company said.
"Batumi Sea Port LLC has handled the transshipment of 3,000 tonnes of Kazakh ammophos. The export of this mineral fertilizer from Batumi Sea Port via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM) is being carried out for the first time," it said.
Delivery of the product to Batumi was carried out as part of multimodal transportation, with the shipper being Kazphosphate LLP, the company said.
Batumi Sea Port plans to handle the transshipment of 50,000 tonnes of Kazakh ammophos in 2025.
Batumi Sea Port ensured the first deliveries of 37,600 tonnes of Kazakh ammonium nitrate to global markets via the TMTM in 2024.
KTO directly owns and manages production assets in Georgia through Batumi Oil Terminal LLC.
JSC KazTransOil is the national operator of main oil pipelines. It is part of the KazMunayGas group and owns a pipeline network stretching 5,400 km.
The TMTM is an international transport corridor that runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Turkey and European countries.
