Union State budget of Russia, Belarus implemented at 99.7% for 2024 - Union secretary Mezentsev
MINSK. Feb 6 (Interfax) - The budget of the Union State of Russia and Belarus planned for 2024 has been nearly fully implemented, Union State Secretary Dmitry Mezentsev said.
"The budget of the Union State in 2024 has been implemented at 99.7%, resulting from coordinated operations in the area of microelectronics, automotive engineering, electronics, and materials science, which are three programs related to the defense and security of the Union State," the BelTA state news agency quoted Mezentsev as saying.
"We conduct an annual review of positions on implementing the Union State's programs and projects that are financed from the Union budget. There are currently eight Union State programs and two projects underway. It is very important to understand that the ministries and agencies of Belarus and Russia, which showed very clear, interconnected, effective work in the past year, are the partners in implementing them [the programs and projects]," Mezentsev said.
The Union State budget for 2024 was approved with revenues of 6.97 billion Russian rubles. Budget revenues are formed mainly through annual deductions from the budgets of Belarus and the Russian Federation. In 2024, these were planned at 6.16 billion Russian rubles, including 4 billion rubles in deductions from the Russian Federation and 2.16 billion rubles in deductions from Belarus. The remaining amount of revenues represents carry-over balances from 2023. Budget expenditures were planned at 5.722 billion rubles, and the surplus at 1.248 billion rubles.
