UK foreign secretary announces 55 mln pounds in aid for Ukraine in Kiev
MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom will allocate 55 million pounds to Ukraine for its energy sector, businesses and social support, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said.
"Today, I am announcing an additional 55 million pounds in UK support for Ukraine to help strengthen resilience and growth in both our countries," Ukrainian media quoted Lammy as saying at a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga in Kiev on Wednesday.
In particular, the UK is fulfilling its commitment to fund Ukrainian grain supplies to Syria, allocating three million pounds for this purpose, he said.
