Ukraine levies luxury tax on 355 car models of 18 brands that cost over UAH 3 mln in 2025

MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Ukraine will levy UAH 25,000 transport tax on 355 car models of 18 brands, including Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Mercedes, Ineos, Land Rover, Lexus, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche and Rolls-Royce, in 2025, Ukrainian media said, citing the Economy Ministry's list to which Ukravtoprom referred in its post on a social network.

Ukravtoprom notes that the luxury tax applies to cars up to five years old and worth at least 375 minimum wages (currently the minimum wage is UAH 8,000), i.e. cars that cost over UAH 3 million in 2025 (versus UAH 2,662,000 in 2024).

According to the list, the tax mostly applies to Land Rover models - 63 (versus 17 in 2024), Porsche - 53, Mercedes-Benz - 50, and BMW - 45.

There are also 46 Mercedes-AMG models, six Hymer-Mercedes models, and nine Mercedes-Maybach models on the list.

In contrast to the lists of previous years, the 2025 list includes Ineos, Lotus, and one Toyota model, Land Cruiser Premium. There are no Tesla vehicles on the list.

Ukravtoprom said that the tax must be paid by individuals within 60 days since the notice is received, and by legal entities through quarterly advance payments before the 30th day of the month following the reporting quarter as indicated in the annual tax declaration.

As reported, the luxury tax was levied on 184 car models of 13 brands in 2024.
