Ukrainian govt considers possible sale of Ukrnafta stake

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Ukraine is ready to consider selling the state-run Sense Bank and privatizing a stake in Ukrnafta, Ukrainian media quoted First Deputy Prime Minister, Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko as saying.

"We are ready to privatize Sense Bank and to consider the possible sale of a stake in Ukrnafta that badly needs an upgrade. Concerning Ukrnafta, a discussion has just begun," Sviridenko said.

Ukrnafta is the largest oil producing company in Ukraine and operator of a national gas station network. The company took over management of Glucso assets in March 2024. It currently operates 547 gas stations, including 462 of its own and 85 under management.

Ukrnafta has 92 special permits for industrial development of fields. It has 1,832 oil and 154 gas production wells on its balance sheet.

The largest shareholder of Ukrnafta is Naftogaz of Ukraine with 50% plus one share.

The headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces supreme commander-in-chief decided to transfer private shares in Ukrnafta to the government in November 2022. They are currently managed by the Defense Ministry.
