Belarusian FM, Syrian leader discuss bilateral cooperation, global, regional affairs
MINSK. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov has held talks with Syrian administration head Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry's press service said.
"The Belarusian foreign minister has met with national administration head Ahmed al-Sharaa. The negotiations lasted for almost two hours and addressed a broad range of issues and areas of cooperation aimed to promote the soonest restoration of Syria," the press service said.
The sides discussed the international situation and regional conflicts in detail and underlined the mutual interest in their soonest resolution, it said.
The foreign minister emphasized Belarus' commitment to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria within the internationally recognized borders, the press service said.
