NBU to inspect 6 Ukrainian banks in 2025 in terms of info security, cyber protection
MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is planning to conduct inspections in 2025 to check information security, cyber protection and the provision of qualified electronic trust services in six out of the 61 banks operating in the country to date.
An inspection is scheduled for Credit Agricole Bank in Q1 2025, for Raiffeisen Bank in Q2, and for the Pivdennyi and Credit Dnepr banks in Q3, Ukrainian media reported, citing an NBU statement. An inspection at ComInbank and Altbank will take place in Q4 next year.
"This will contribute to improving banks' own capabilities to respond to current cyber threats, as well as strengthening the cyber resilience of both banks in particular and the banking system as a whole," the statement said.
On-site inspections on information security, cyber protection and the provision of qualified electronic trust services are planned based on a risk-oriented approach, it said.
The inspections will take place taking into account the information available to the NBU on facts, events and circumstances of the banks' operations and in view of the specifics of their functioning, nature and scope of providing banking and financial services and carrying out other types of activities, it said.
