Moldovagaz has contracted gas supplies for Q1 2024, notes Gazprom's decision - CEO

CHISINAU. Dec 28 (Interfax) - JSC Moldovagaz has contracted the necessary volumes of gas to cover all of Moldova's consumption fully, excluding Transdniestria, until the end of March 2025, Moldovagaz Acting Management Board Chairman Vadim Cheban said regarding Russia's decision to cease supplying gas to Moldova on the morning of January 1, 2025.

"JSC Moldovagaz has noted the decision on the part of PJSC Gazprom to limit supplies of natural gas to the Republic of Moldova to 0 cubic meters per day starting at 7 a.m. local time on January 1, 2025," Cheban posted on social media.

Cheban recalled that JSC Moldovagaz has essentially transferred all natural gas supplies from PJSC Gazprom totaling 5.7 million cubic meters to the Transdniestria region since December 2022.

"Natural gas for consumers on the right bank of the Dniester has been purchased on regional and European markets. It should be emphasized that JSC Moldovagaz has contracted the necessary volumes of gas to cover all consumption on the Right Bank fully until the end of March 2025," Cheban said.
