Roscosmos plans launch of 8 remote Earth sensing satellites for 2025
MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Roscosmos is planning to launch the remote Earth sensing satellites Elektro-L, Obzor-R, Grifon, and Aist spacecraft in 2025, the state corporation said in a statement on Saturday.
"The launches of remote Earth sensing satellites, stereoscopic spacecraft Aist-2T1 and Aist-2T2, Obzor-R1 radar satellite and the hydrometeorological spacecraft Elektro-L5 are expected in 2025," according to a statement on Roscosmos's activities in 2024.
Roscosmos has also announced the first launch of four small Grifon spacecraft in 2025 to monitor the entire surface of the planet, the statement said. "Starting from 2026, it is planned to deploy an orbital group of Sfera-Grifon satellites, increasing their standard number to 132 spacecraft," Roscosmos said.
"It is also planned to launch foreign spacecraft from Russian cosmodromes in 2025," the state corporation said.
According to Roscosmos, it plans to launch experimental and prototype Marafon satellites, included in the federal project Sfera in 2025 and five similar spacecraft in 2026. "This group will increase to 264 spacecraft later," the state corporation said.
"In 2025, it is planned to put the Ionosfera-M3 and Ionosfera-M4 spacecraft into orbit," Roscosmos said.
"In 2026-2027, two modernized Resurs-PM remote Earth sensing spacecraft, two Pixel-VR orbital-electronic satellites, the Express-AMU4 and Yamal-501 telecommunication spacecraft, three Berkut-VR and Berkut-RSA satellites, and also the launch of Express-RV spacecraft," the state corporation said.
"In the future, the company is planning to increase the groups Berkut-VR and Berkut-RSA groups to 30 spacecraft and 24 spacecraft, respectively" Roscosmos said.
Roscosmos plans to start serial production of Marafon and Berkut satellites by 2027 as part of the federal Sfera project.
"The creation of the Russian-Belarusian optical-electronic remote Earth sensing satellite RBKA, which is expected to be placed into orbit in 2028, continued in 2024," Roscosmos said.
According to Roscosmos, the company plans to expand the Meteor-3M spacecraft complex in 2027-2028 and to launch the Meteor-M2-5 and M2-6 spacecraft. Over this period, Riscosmos also plans to place four Skif Internet satellites into orbit and wants to increase the group to 12 spacecraft later.
By 2031, the Arktika-M hydrometeorological space system will increase by four spacecraft and two Kondor-FKA radar satellites will be placed into orbit by 2030, it said.
