Belarus replaces Belarus-2027 Eurobonds worth $240 mln through NSD

MINSK. Dec 27 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Finance Ministry on Friday carried out its debut replacement of Eurobonds of the Belarus-2027 issue (due June 29, 2027) with government bonds of issue no. 331, the ministry said.

"Government bonds of issue no. 331 in the amount of $240.4 million have been transferred to the accounting infrastructure of the National Settlement Depository [NSD] (Russian Federation) for crediting to the accounts of the Eurobond holders," it said.

The replacement involved 1,760 holders who completed verification with the Belarusian central securities depository, the Finance Ministry said.

"Within the framework of the replacement, previously accumulated interest income is being paid out, provided that holders confirm ownership rights to these securities as of the respective income payment dates," it said.

On December 24, the Finance Ministry announced the debut replacement of Eurobonds from the Belarus-2027 issue with government bonds from issue no. 331 through the NSD.

Settlements for bonds from issue no. 331 will be conducted in Belarusian rubles at the exchange rate set by the National Bank three business days before the bond maturity date or the interest income payment date. As part of the replacement, interest income on the Belarus-2027 Eurobonds will be paid to holders who confirm ownership rights to these securities as of the respective income payment dates.
