Belarus' GDP growth slows to 3.9% in Jan-Nov

MINSK. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Belarus' GDP grew 3.9% year-on-year in comparable prices to 224.2 billion Belarusian rubles in January-November 2024, the National Statistical Committee, Belstat, said.

The GDP deflator index totaled 109.4% in 11M 2024.

As reported, the country's GDP grew 4.2% in January-October, 4.5% in January-September, and 5% in H1 2024.

Belarus' GDP rose 3.9% in 2023 versus the target of 3.8% after contracting 4.7% in 2022.

In October this year, the International Monetary Fund improved its estimate for Belarus' GDP to grow to 3.6% in 2024, the World Bank projects growth of 4%, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts 4.3%, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development projects 4.2%. The Belarusian authorities have approved the target forecast for GDP to grow 3.8% this year.

The official exchange rate as on December 17, 2024, is 3.4658 Belarusian rubles/$1.
