Zourabichvili discusses situation in Georgia with Trump, Musk

TBILISI. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili met with United States President-elect Donald Trump and U.S. businessman Elon Musk at the Notre-Dame de Paris re-opening ceremony attended by leaders of about 50 countries, Zourabichvili said on Sunday.

Zourabichvili posted about it on social networks and published a video of her interacting with Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron and a photograph with Musk.

"In depth discussion with Presidents Trump and Macron. Exposed the stolen election and extremely alarming repression against the people of Georgia. Underscored the need for a strong US. The Georgian people have a friend in Donald Trump. God bless the United States of America," Zourabichvili said on the X social network.

"Excellent exchange with Elon Musk about the situation in Georgia. I look forward to welcoming him in our country," she said.

Zourabichvili does not recognize the October 26 parliamentary election in Georgia and considers the incumbent government illegitimate. The president of Georgia supports the protests which have been continuing in the country since late November after the Georgian Dream ruling party's decision to postpone the European Union accession talks.
