Ukraine, Azerbaijan to cooperate in environmental protection
MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Minister Svetlana Grinchuk and her Azerbaijani counterpart Mukhtar Babayev signed a memorandum on cooperation on the sidelines of the 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, COP29, in Baku.
"The memorandum we have signed acts as a logical follow-up to and builds upon the initiatives that are the core of COP29. Our states have an extensive experience of cooperation as part of preparations for it. We will continue to deepen our cooperation in developing environmental technologies, waste management, safeguarding biological diversity, rehabilitation of contaminated territories, preventing industrial pollution, etc.," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Grinchuk as saying in a statement published by the ministry on social media.
