Leading Russian beef producer obtains right to supply product to Iran
MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Iran has allowed another Russian company to supply beef to its market, Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) said.
Russia's plant and animal health watchdog's press service clarified to Interfax that Voronezh Region-based Zarechnoye is the company.
Zarechnoye is one of Russia's largest producers of marbled beef. The company's founder, entrepreneur Sergei Nitsenko, this past spring sold it to AFG National, one of Russia's largest producers of cereals.
Rosselkhoznadzor said that six Russian producers currently have the right to supply beef to Iran.
