Bad weather causes power cuts in 218 communities across Ukraine - grid operator Ukrenergo
MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Stormy weather in several regions of Ukraine caused power cuts in 218 communities in the Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolayev, Cherkassy, Kirovograd, Poltava, Sumy, Kiev, and Chernigov regions as of Tuesday morning.
"Power engineers are continuing repairs on the grid. Weather in some regions remains complicated, with strong wind gusts," Ukrainian media reported with reference to the national power grid operator Ukrenergo on Tuesday.
Power consumption decreased on the morning of November 5 by 4.5% compared to November 4, as sunny weather in most of the Ukrainian regions made the operations of household solar power plants more productive than the day before, it said.
Ukraine planned to import 2,150 MW/h of electricity from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova on November 5, with maximum transmission capacity reaching 395 MW during certain hours.
