Turkey writes off Kyrgyzstan's foreign debt totaling $59 mln
BISHKEK. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Turkey has written off Kyrgyzstan's foreign debt totaling $58.9 million, the press service of Kyrgyzstan's president confirmed to Interfax on Tuesday.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced Turkey's decision to write off Kyrgyzstan's foreign debt following earlier talks with his Turkish counterpart in Bishkek.
"I would like to express my gratitude to President Erdogan for reaching the decision to write off Kyrgyzstan's foreign debt to Turkey," Japarov said.
The debt write-off was agreed as part of agreements on collaborating in the area of sustainable development, as well as support for environmentally significant green projects, the press service said.
