Ukrainian agrifood exports growing amid conclusion of harvesting campaign

MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Ukraine exported 6.6 million tonnes of agricultural produce in October 2024, which is 33.8% more than in September, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club.

"Exports of all categories of products are growing. The main reason of this growth is the conclusion of the harvesting campaign," it said.

In particular, exports of grain crops increased by 33% to 4.0 million tonnes compared with September, with corn accounting for 49%, wheat 42%, and barley around 10% of them.

Oilseed exports grew by 27% to 1.2 million tonnes, soybeans accounting for 57%, rapeseed 40%, and sunflower 1%.

Exports of vegetable oils grew by 38% to 590,200 tonnes, with sunflower oil accounting for 82%, rapeseed oil 11%, and soybean oil 7%.

Exports of press cake increased by 82% to 474,300 tonnes, with sunflower press cake accounting of 85% and soybean press cake 15%.

Exports of other agrifood products increased by 22% to 420,400 tonnes.

"Compared to the previous period, the share of corn has exceeded that of wheat among grain exports, and the share of soybeans exceeded that of rapeseed in oilseed exports. This is owing to the fact that the harvesting of these crops has been completed," the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club said.
