Zelensky asks Rada to extend general mobilization, martial law
MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has requested the Verkhovna Rada to endorse his decrees extending martial law and the general mobilization by another 90 days starting November 10.
The Rada registered the corresponding draft resolutions on Monday, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Rada's website.
Martial law has been in effect in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. The president signed his first decree on general mobilization the next day, on February 25, 2022. Since then, the decrees have been regularly extended, each time for 90 days. The procedure is as follows: the president submits his decrees to the Rada for endorsement, the Rada votes to endorse them, after which the president signs them into law.
