Ukraine exempts some goods imported via Energy Support Fund from VAT, import duties

MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved a list of goods exempt from VAT and import duties when brought into Ukraine under agreements financed by the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

The list includes oil and petroleum products, hydraulic turbines, various pumps, engines and generators, power generating equipment, transformers, batteries, electrical equipment, electrical appliances, vehicles, among them trucks and self-propelled vehicles, instruments and other goods that are key to restoring Ukraine's damaged energy infrastructure, Ukrainian media said, citing information from the Energy Ministry.

The procedure for confirming operations to import such goods to Ukraine was also approved, it said.

"Waiving taxes and import duties on the imports of energy equipment and other goods funded by donor aid will help speed up the restoration of energy infrastructure. This will help stably go through the heating season and maintain the reliable power supply to the citizens of Ukraine, businesses and critical infrastructure facilities," the ministry said.

As reported, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund was set up in the spring of 2022. By early October 2024, the fund, which includes more than 120 energy companies, had accumulated approximately 700 million euros intended for the restoration of Ukrainian power generation facilities.

Enterprises wishing to receive aid from the fund have to apply to the Energy Ministry and detail their needs.
