Agrarian notes for drawing investment in Ukrainian agribusiness sector to start working in 2025 - regulator
MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Agrarian notes as a new instrument to draw investment in the Ukrainian agribusiness sector will start working in early 2025, and all the necessary legal framework for launching this program is ready, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC).
"The commission keeps working on expanding the range of financial instruments, being guided by the market's demand. The new financial instrument to finance agricultural production will start working in Ukraine very soon. We expect good dynamics from the work of agrarian notes in the short term," NSSMC head Ruslan Magomedov said.
The law On Agrarian Notes will take effect starting January 1, 2025, which envisions the institution of a special register of agrarian notes. The commission has drawn up and endorsed an act regulating the register's application.
The register is supposed to display information on the issuance, content and change of details of agrarian notes, on their termination and encumbrance, and on the beginning of the compulsory enforcement of obligations under them based on a special extract from the register.
The NSSMC has also amended the regulations on depository activities defining the specifics of accounting for agrarian notes in the Central Depository system, depositing non-equity securities, and so on. Additional acts have also been adopted to regulate relations arising from the circulation of agrarian notes, it said.
