Turkey issues 1,000 licenses to Ukraine for road haulage to and from third countries

MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Turkey has issued the last package of 1,000 licenses to Ukraine for road haulage to and from third countries in line with an agreement reached at the end of 2023, Ukrainian Deputy Restoration Minister Sergei Derkach said.

"Plus 1,000 licenses from Turkey for haulage to and from third countries. Ukrainian truckers may transport goods to and from third countries with Turkey. The required license forms are already at the UkrTransSafety [the State Service for Transport Safety] and are available for ordering," Ukrainian media quoted Derkach as saying on his social account.

"The licenses were issued in line with an agreement reached at the end of 2023, which will help cover the need until the end of the year," Derkach said.

"I'll recall that, for the first time since 2018, we managed to reach agreement with Turkey at the start of this year to increase the number of such licenses by 40% to 3,500," Derkach said, adding that the market has already used the previous 2,500 licenses.

Bilateral and transit road haulage between Ukraine and Turkey does not require licenses, as the two countries have liberalized cargo transportation between themselves, and this regulation will remain valid at least until martial law in Ukraine is lifted, he said.
