Gazprom CEO, Kazakh first deputy PM discuss gas supplies to Kazakhstan, gas transit
MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar have discussed ways to advance long-term cooperation between the sides, Gazprom said in a statement.
Miller and Sklyar met on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2024.
"The parties discussed steps to develop long-term cooperation in the gas sector. Special attention was given to interaction in gas supplies, transport and processing," Gazprom said.
Earlier, Gazprom said that supplies to foreign markets grew in H1, with exports to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan showing the largest growth.
Russia started to supply gas to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan in October 2023. Gas in supplied in reverse mode along a specially designated route via the Central Asia-Center main gas pipeline system. Gazprom and the Kazakh government signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement in November 2023.
Miller also met with Rachid Hachichi, the CEO of Algeria's Sonatrach state-owned oil and gas company on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg forum. The parties discussed gas cooperation.
Miller also met with Srbijagas CEO Dusan Bajatovic. The parties discussed the continuation of Russian gas exports to maintain the reliable energy supply to consumers in Serbia.
