Kazakhstan to choose technologies, contractors for NPP construction in 2025 - deputy PM

ASTANA. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan will decide on companies, technologies and contractors that will build its nuclear power plant (NPP) next year, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar said.

"There will be greater clarity on this matter next year, as to who will be this consortium's members, when these documents will be drawn up, when a decision on its contractor and designer will be taken," Sklyar said at a press conference in Astana on Tuesday.

It takes international companies a year to do a feasibility study and a year and a half to prepare design and estimate documentation, only after which the NPP's construction will start, he said.
