First small-scale LNG plant in Ingushetia to be built in 2026

MAGAS. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Ingushetia head Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov and Russia's Deputy Economic Development Minister Sergei Nazarov have laid the foundation stone for the region's first liquefied natural gas plant, with Start Plus LLC intending to implement the project.

"Laying the first stone with Deputy Economic Development Minister Sergei Nazarov took place at our industrial site in the city of Karabulak. The construction of the Start Plus plant for the production of liquefied gas will soon begin here," Kalimatov posted on social media.

Kalimatov said that the construction of the plant will create more than 40 jobs.

The work is planned to be completed in 2026.

The press service of the head and government of the region told Interfax that the LNG production plant, as well as the cryogenic filling station, would be built in the industrial zone of Karabulak for 518 million rubles. The own funds of Start Plus LLC in the financing of the project, as planned, should total 30%, and the partner loan should be 70%.

The complex will produce 12,780 tons of LNG per year. At the same time, a cryogenic fuel dispensing point will be built near the federal highway R-217 Kavkaz, passing through the territory of the republic.
