China's Fufeng Group to build corn processing complex in north Kazakhstan
KOSTANAY. Sept 6 (Interfax) - A corn processing complex will be built in Kazakhstan's Kostanay region in cooperation with China's Fufeng Group, the Kostanay regional department of the Atamaken Chamber of Entrepreneurs said in a Friday press release.
A Chinese delegation that met with farmers in the Kostanay region suggested that Kazakhstan should increase the area under corn, according to the press release.
Construction will take two years, and the processing capacity of the complex will be 500,000 tonnes of corn a year, and most of the products will be exported.
The complex will include a starch sugar plant, an amino acid synthesis plant, a coal-fired heat and power plant, and a wastewater treatment plant.
Fufeng Group Company Limited is China's largest manufacturer of bio-fermentation products, including monosodium glutamate, xanthan gum, glucose, fructose, fertilizers, corn and others.
