IAEA chief plans to discuss agency's initiatives for Kursk NPP's security at NPP
PARIS. Aug 22 (Interfax) - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi plans to discuss the international organization's steps to ensure the security of the facility during his visit to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) next week, the IAEA said in a statement on Thursday.
"During his visit, Director General Grossi will assess the situation on site and discuss modalities for further activities as may be needed to assess the nuclear safety and security conditions of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant," the statement said.
Russia told the IAEA on Thursday that the fragments of a downed drone had been discovered on the NPP grounds, it said.
