Ukrainian Railways to buy 10,000 tonnes of diesel fuel from Ukrnafta
MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax) - JSC Ukrainian Railways will acquire 10,000 tonnes of diesel fuel from the Ukrnafta state-owned company following the fourth tender to sell diesel fuel via the Prozorro Market platform, Ukrainian media outlets cited Ukrainian Railways as saying on social media.
Ukrainian Railways is expected to sign a contract with the winner shortly, it said. The supplier will have to dye this entire amount of diesel fuel in order to prevent theft.
Ukrainian Railways has earlier acquired 25,000 tonnes of diesel fuel via Prozorro Market at prices ranging from 50,500 to 52,900 hryvni per tonne. Give the Platts indices at the time when the winners were determined, they are in line with the prices of direct contracts with European producers, including all related costs for delivery and customs clearance, it said.
In particular, contacts on the delivery of 15,000 tonnes of diesel fuel were signed with Ukrnafta after the tender in June 2024. The SOCAR Ukraine trading house won July's tender for 10,000 tonnes.
Both winners were cleared by the Professional Procurement state-owned enterprise at the stage of their registration in the electronic catalog, the company said.
As reported, Ukrainian Railways used to buy diesel fuel directly from European producers, but in April 2024, after the government's corresponding decree was amended, the company ceased to have this opportunity and can now buy diesel fuel only through Prozorro.
