China boosts tea exports to Russia 17% to $32.8 mln in 7M 2024 - Chinese customs service
MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - China boosted tea exports to Russia 17% year-on-year to $32.804 in January-July 2024 from $28.043 million in January-July 2023, China's General Administration of Customs (GAC) said.
China supplied tea to 123 countries in the reporting period. The largest buyers were Morocco at $123.5 million, Ghana at $95.2 million, Malaysia at $53.1 million, Uzbekistan at $30.9 million, and Japan at $28.6 million, among others.
China also imported tea from Russia at substantially lower volumes than it exported, having purchased $71,900 worth of the product from Russia in January-July 2024 versus $95,600 in January-July 2023.
China produces up to 3.5 million tonnes of tea per year.
GAC data also indicate that China boosted supplies of coffee to Russia in monetary terms to $11.1 million in 7M 2024 from $8 million in 7M 2023.
