Share of ruble, yuan in Russia-China mutual settlements exceeds 95% - PM Mishustin

MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - The share of national currencies in mutual settlements between Russia and China has already exceeded 95%, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said when opening talks with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang.

"The current share of the ruble and yuan in mutual settlements has already exceeded 95%," Mishustin said.

Mishustin recalled that mutual trade between the countries is developing at an accelerated pace, with trade turnover having exceeded 1.6 trillion yuan, or 20 trillion rubles, in 2023.

Russia and China have established active collaboration along government lines, ensuring systematic interaction between five intergovernmental committees and more than 80 joint coordinating bodies and structures, Mishustin said.

The parties intend to compare views on implementing the "historic agreements" of the leaders of Russia and China during the 29th regular meeting between the respective countries' heads of government taking place in Moscow, Mishustin said.
