Russia, China developing humanitarian cooperation - deputy PM
MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax) - Russia and China are deepening humanitarian cooperation through an increase in tourism, interaction between media outlets, and university exchanges, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.
"I should note the high intensity of contacts between Russian and Chinese media outlets, and an increased number of tourist trips, including visa-free tours based on a respective agreement," Golikova said at a meeting of the Russian-Chinese Humanitarian Cooperation Commission on Monday.
"Since the beginning of its work, the commission we lead has achieved palpable results in deepening bilateral humanitarian cooperation," she said.
Russia and China are also promoting cooperation in filmmaking, archives, and university exchanges, Golikova said.
"I am confident that the potential for developing bilateral relations is far from being spent. We have ambitious tasks of their further enlargement. I view this as a token of stronger friendship and traditions of neighborliness that unite peoples in our countries," she said.
