Ukraine exports 55,400 tonnes of honey in 2023, among world's top 5 suppliers

MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Ukrainian producers have bolstered their positions on the global honey market over the past decade, increasing honey exports by more than fivefold from 2012 to 2023, Ukrainian media said, citing the press service for the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB).

"Ukrainian honey continues to demonstrate stable positive dynamics on the world market in 2024 despite the difficulties caused by the crisis. Honey exports stood at over 23,000 tonnes, or $44 million by value, in the first three months of this year. The biggest demand has continuously been observed in European Union countries, including Poland and France, which account for nearly half of this forex revenue," UCAB analysts said.

Ukraine has been among the world's five largest honey exporters over the past few years, they said. In particular, Ukraine ranked fourth among the world's traditional top honey exporters in 2023 with 55,400 tonnes, below China, which exported 152,600 tonnes in 2023, India with 98,700 tonnes, and Argentina with 68,900 tonnes. Brazil ranked fifth, exporting 28,500 tonnes in 2023.
