Ukraine opens dry port at border with Hungary, Romania

MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - A new multimodal terminal has begun operation in the Beregovo district of Ukraine's Transcarpathian region.

"Another new high-capacity enterprise has commenced operation in the Transcarpathian region. I have visited LLC Chernotisov Terminal, which operates as a new multimodal terminal, the so-called dry port, during a working visit to the Beregovo district," Ukrainian media cited regional administration head Viktor Mikita's statement on a social network.

The terminal has a favorable geographical location near the border with Hungary and Romania, he said. Its production area is 14.1 hectares and the main function is transshipment of agricultural products, oil and, in the future, petroleum products.

Investments total about 282 million hryvni.

The official exchange rate for August 15 is 41.3262 hryvni/$1.
